Visitors Welcome! Visitors are always welcome at our parish. But, when you come to a Divine Liturgy you will notice that it might be quite a bit different from what you have experienced in the past. First and foremost, the Divine Liturgy is about worshipping God. The focus of the service is on God. The priest faces East along with the Faithful. Together, the priest and the people are gathered to worship the Triune God. We would love to have you with us in worship. Before you come, we have some suggestions for how to prepare to attend an Orthodox Divine Liturgy.
Ancient Faith for a Modern Age Welcome to the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. St. Stephen is a parish of the Orthodox Church in America located in Longwood, Florida. As an Orthodox parish, we uphold the Faith of Jesus Christ delivered to the Apostles. This faith has been preserved in all its fullness within Orthodoxy. And this faith is alive and well today in our community.
Encountering the Risen Christ Lent - the time of preparation as we approach the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For the Orthodox Christians, this is not an event which happened once 2,000 years ago. Rather, this is a daily reality, a present experience of the salvific work of Christ. How do Orthodox Christians view salvation and the ultimate goal of life? How do we prepare for the Feast of Feasts when we celebrate the death and Resurrection of Christ!

Welcome to the Orthodox Church of St. Stephen the Protomartyr!

The Feast of the Sunday of Orthodoxy

The Hierarchs of the Standing Conference of the Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas

To all the Clergy and the Laity of the Holy Orthodox Churches in the Americas

Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We, the Hierarchs of the Standing Conference of the Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas, greet you on the Feast of the Sunday of Orthodoxy with words of the Holy Apostle Paul that were selected by the Primates of the worldwide Orthodox Church to close their Message proclaimed on October 12, 2008. Indeed, we glory in our God whose love for us exceeds every thought or imagining that could enter our minds or hearts. As the Apostle Paul says in another place: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him (I Cor. 2:9).

New Priest, New Website

Welcome to St. Stephen 4.0! The new site with the new design has gone live, but is still a work in progress. Temporarily, the St. Nectarios Book Club is not available, as we relocate to a new home as a discussion forum. If you have a username and password, you should still be able to log in to the new site. Let me know about any problems or broken lins as we move forward.

As always, comments and suggestions are welcome. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by clicking here.

Blessed Lent to all,

Glen

Photo Gallery is back!

Okay, after a too long delay, I have the parish photo gallery back up and running. I have put in the older pics. I will be teaching the Protodeacon how to upload pics, so at least two of us will be able to keep the parish photo gallery updated. If you are interested in learning as well, then let me know by using my contact form on the 'Contact' page.

The photo gallery can be found here.

In Christ,

Glen Chancy
